A Ferrari California is abandoned in an underpass that has been flooded by storms in Toronto on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Yesterday’s storm dumped nearly 126 millimetres of rain in the span of one evening, exceeding that of Hurricane Hazel in 1954. And while Torontonians at home dealt with power outages and flooded basements, those stuck on the road were much less fortunate, including one driver of a silver Ferrari California.

Major low-lying arteries such as the Don Valley Parkway and Bayview Avenue were closed off, but that didn’t stop the inevitable motorist from trying to navigate through dangerously high water levels. Some made it, while others, particularly one driver of a $201,290 Ferrari California, became trapped.
