Three transsexuals filed suit against Toys "R" Us yesterday, saying they were chased from the Bensonhurst store by eight bat-wielding employees.
Donna McGrath, Robert Jinks, also known as Tanya Jinks, and Nobert Lopez, known as Tara Lopez, said they were Christmas shopping at the Toys "R" Us on Bay Parkway on Dec. 20 when the employees approached them and yelled anti-gay slurs.
The employees then charged them, swinging bats and chasing them from the store, the three said in court papers filed in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn.
One bat-wielding employee allegedly said, "That's disgusting and if they pass me and touch me, watch what I can do with this bat to them," said Thomas Shanahan, the lawyer for the three.
The three later reported the incident to a store manager, identified as "Valva," who allegedly "failed to take steps to stop the bat-wielding mob," the complaint said.
A week earlier at the same store, the trio claims employees called them "disgusting transvestites," among other derogatory terms, court records show.
After that incident, the store manager, Bob Maloney offered them a 50 percent discount and promised them it wouldn't happen again, the lawsuit alleges.
