This is why they shouldn't make guns so readily available in America. How many more innocent kids have to be killed before they make the decision to take guns from shops? Nothing like this has happened here in Britain and we live happily without guns.

I agree they need to have stricter laws on guns in the US. Gun ownership in the UK is tightly regulated and the security measures you need to take to get a firearms licence in the UK are very good.

More gun laws would not do a single thing for preventing this sort of criminal behavior. Why do people always screech for more laws when shootings happen? Do they really think this is the answer; making more laws?? Last time I checked, criminals don't pay any attention to laws. This is why they are called criminals.
Not everyone in the UK agrees that gun control has worked there, either. Many have sent vociferous messages to NOT allow the US government to take our guns. I can guarantee you, they will NOT get mine.

What about the Dunblane School in Scotland in '96 where the man 'must have chased the children', also known as one of the deadliest attacks on children in the UK? All that achieved was leading to the ban on handguns only. But, if a criminal is going to use a gun, they aren't going to go the legal way about it - we still have licences for firearms, though not as easy to attain we do have them. My father legally owns several firearms - though I believe he had to go through several interviews of his nature and psychological health, have his home checked and such.

But yes, these shootings are a lot more common in the USA because of the availability of guns - but nothing stops people selling their weapons or having them stolen.

You'll find quite a lot of criminals who have committed a crime using a firearm will have acquired them illegally - it is so easy to be traced when you are recorded as the owner to a specific weapon due to the marks they leave on casings, impact on the victim, etc.
