I don't even have words to describe this story....

One groom was seemingly unaware of this well known secret, which is why he is suing his new wife after seeing her without make up on for the first time.

The morning after their recent wedding in Algeria the man reportedly awoke and was shocked to see his wife’s natural face.

At first he didn’t even think the woman lying next to him was his wife, accusing her of being a thief, before finally admitting she was in fact the same woman he had married the day before.

However he is now reportedly suing her for fraud and ‘psychological suffering’.
Emirates 247 reported that the man is looking for $20,000 (£13,000) in damages.
‘He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief,’ a source told local media.

I have a word to describe this story, but I'll sort of refrain from using it.

Just shows how easy it is to sue some places really...

Maybe he had this planned all along? That he would do this after their first wedding night. Seems like a bad scam. He should know that most ladies wear make up and that it does come off eventually!

That is absurd. She should counter-sue somehow perhaps on the pretense that he had broken his vow to love his wife through sickness and in health etc. until death do they part. I don't understand how a man can marry a woman who he has never seen her without make up.

Well with arranged marriages you have to expect it as they don't see each other until the wedding

I don't see how that is a fraud, since he married her with his own will. When I think about it, this world has changed so much and we're seeing such days. Oh dear.

I think free will wasn't a factor, it was an arranged marriage according to one source

I don't think you can sue someone for breaking that because then literally every person that gets a divorce is in danger of being sued. I guess this is the kind of world we live in now where things like this happen. To be fair to him if she looks that different without make-up then he is in the right to sue her for tricking him like that but the idiot probably shouldn't have married her before seeing her properly

This sounds so ridiculous that it reminds me of those fake news from the Onion people take seriously.
Come on! It is a jab at how some woman are always with heavy layers of makeup that even their loved ones probably wouldn't even recognise them if they took it off. Beware of news using stock photos with no names at all.

This never happened. Snopes has my back on this one.

Thank you for that. That story was absolutely ridiculous, we should have known! ;)
