Week 28 recap
Buffalo Canadiens (17-10) 45 @
Santa Cruz Soupsters (12-15) 88
Everybody in the league is wondering...Whazzup with those Soupsters? In their last 4 games they have beaten every one of the recent league leaders and only lost to the...NJ Berzerkers?! This weeks Soupsters victim happened to be the Buffalo Canadiens. Things looked pretty evenly matched till the 2nd half of the week where the Soupsters jumped out and overmatched their opponent 70-28. Watchout league leaders, the soupsters are coming.

NY/NJ Hanson Brothers (15-12) 55
The Phoenix defense used to be the talk of the town but now it seems that the Phoenix offense is the new word on the street. After the Hanson Bros. took an early 16-2 lead, Melbourne busted out with a 51-4 2nd day. Melbourne has won it's last 3 of 4 games and last 5 when scoring 80+ pts.

Columbus Stone Cutters (15-12) 53 @
LA Ice Monkeys (17-10) 50
The once hot LA team seem to have found themselves in an iceberg and the Stone Cutters were not the one's to get them out of it. LA, losers of it's last 2 of 3 games, hoped that the homefield advantage would be the help it would need to get them over the top against a strong Columbus team but it just wasn't enough. Columbus came out of the gates strong and outgunned the Ice Monkeys 31-16 in the 1st half. LA tried to stay in it in the 3rd day but Columbus wouldn't let them as they matched LA point for point. On the last day, LA gave it all they've got but their rally fell short.

JT Hockey Hillbillies (5-22) 57
The Blackhawks used a couple explosive days and then toy with the Hockey Hillbillies coming away with a close but easy win. The Blackhawks used a strong 1st and then coasted on the second day but trailed 33-32 to the Hillbillies going into the half. On the 3rd day, the Blackhawks exploded again with 31 points taking the lead 63-49. The Blackhawks just coasted the rest of the way, scoring a big fat 0, knowing the Hillbillies had nothing left in them.
3 stars: Lemieux(JT) 19, Arvedson(GB) 16 & Pronger(GB) 14
NJ Berzerkers (8-19) 57 @
Rochester Wiggums (17-10) 91
Watching this game was like watching Mike Tyson(before lunch) take on Pee Wee Herman. Outmatched was an understatement. This Rochester team just punished the Berzerkers as they regain the lone top spot. The only thing worth noting for the Berzerkers was that they made a strong comeback in the 2nd half after trailing 51-5, still with Rochesters 5th line out for skating practice, they matched the Berzerkers 1st line point for point. I admit, I had to change the channel at the half and watched...(uggh)The Messenger(still more entertaining that this game).
