The wall of water would weaken as it crossed the ocean, but would still be 40-50 metres (130-160 feet) high by the time it hit land.

You know, I realized that living on the west coast of Florida prolly wouldn't help me, considering that it's a penninsula. The wave'd raise sea level (right?) and I'd just be flooded after the fact. Drat.

And no fair having a tsunami party in NY. Have it someplace central so we can all await the end of the world together!
