Australia's health watchdog agency on Thursday recalled 285,000 defective glow-in-the-dark condoms, said parliamentary Health Secretary Trish Worth. After finding the condoms had holes or were prone to break under pressure, the Therapeutic Goods Administration ordered the prophylactics off the shelves. "Clearly condoms that develop holes pose a significant public health risk as they can increase the likelihood of transmission of STDs including HIV and hepatitis C," Worth said. "Many Australian couples depend on condoms to prevent pregnancy and should be able to trust the product purchased," added Worth.
