How do you backup your data, automatically or manually? I use both, I let my device backup data in a frequent interval automatically, as well as manually backup on an external hard disk. When you backup data on a device, you can retrieve it without an internet connection.
I was in this habit until recently. I now have rclone commands setup to backup certain linux paths to Office365/MS Onedrive for cloud storage - works really well and sends automated emails once completed
I always backup manually so that I know everything I do not want to lose is backed up and there is no risk of me thinking it has backed up when it hasn't. I usually back up if I need to do a fresh install of Windows on my PC so that I am able to put everything back on that I need after the install.
I am using automatic backup for my important data and files. I set auto backup for every evening. And I always check to be sure that my data has been auto backed before I sleep. Can't risk anything with manual backup.
