Biorhythms

For the uninitiated:
Biorhythms (what I know of them, at least) are basically a "theory" that your body goes through rhythmic ups and downs in your physical, emotional, and mental states. IIRC, the cycles all start at some level at your birth and progress like a sine-wave (different periods) throughout your life. Supposedly using a formula (or program, there's one for the Palm) you can find where your three states lie on any given day.

I was just curious if anyone puts any stock at all in these. Personally, I'm not quite sure. The human body does have a thing for cycles, that's for sure. The problem is tracking these rhythms. The formula can't possibly work since everyone's cycles would have slightly different periods, and even those would vary from time to time.

Now, the real question is: Assuming you could correct for "clock-skew" could biorhythms be an accurate predictor of mood, mental-acuteness, and physical state? Or is all of this a bunch of BS and all such states are determined by current/recent environmental factors?

(Don't ask why I'm posting this. I guess my strange-thoughts&questions cycle has just peaked.

I definitely think biorhythms are a very real thing, but I don't think you can chart them.
I can feel when my body is having a good or bad physical day, or a good or bad mental day, but from the various charting structures I've seen, they generated chart never matches up with what I'm feeling.

The body goes through natural highs and lows. More than anything, listen to your body.
Just because your chart says that all 3 of your rhythms are going to be high, I wouldn't take that as a sign that you should use that day as your foray into rock climbing.

I feel that biorhythms cannot be charted and that the way you feel is based on the way you treat yourself. If you are active in sports and your diet is fine, you will have your good 'energetic' days but then after a string of good days your body will need a little time for recuperation, so you have a not so good 'energetic' day. I really doubt that some chart can say that on this day in the year 2002 what kinda day you'll have.

I totally agree with DD. I mean, it's obvious that your body goes through cycles and stuff, but charting it is like reading your horoscope in the newspaper everyday - it may say that your love, success, and whatever are all up, but you can still have a poopy day. I definately trust more in what I feel rather than in what can be "charted."
