If you are not familiar with building websites, I suggest you skip WordPress altogether and use Weebly. Weebly is a simple drag-and-drop platform that is super user-friendly.

Let’s talk about how to get you started with using Weebly. When you’re buying your domain name from Thexyz, there is an option to create a free Weebly website.

This is hosted with Thexyz but uses the Weebly website builder. When you first log in via thexyz, it will take you to the page to choose your theme for your site. Don’t worry about connecting your domain just yet.

Once you have chosen your theme, you will go to the section where you can begin to build out your website!!!

The cool thing about Weebly, is it is also hosts your website. So you do not have to host it anywhere else. When you get to the above page, choose the third option as you are going to build this site with the domain you have already purchased. You will then need to pick a Weebly plan. I usually suggest choosing the basic plan. BUT compare the plans so you see exactly what you will be getting. Choose the one that fits your needs the best.

This is where the fun begins. The above pic shows you all the elements on the left-hand side. You literally click on the Title and drag it into the white space below. Then click inside that element and type in your title.

Up at the top you have built. This is where you can drag the elements onto your website to build it out.

Next you have Pages. If you click on that, it will take you to a page where all your pages are. You can add, delete pages easily. Each website theme has pages that come with it already. If they don’t work for you, just simply delete them, or rename them.

If you ever want to choose a new theme you can click on the Theme option. You can also click Theme to edit your font size, kind, colors, link colors, etc.

The PUBLISH button at the top right-hand side is your SAVE button. Save often. as you don’t want to lose your work.

You can create columns and pretty much manipulate each page any way you would like.

If an element gets put in the wrong place, hover over it and click on the blue x that will come up in the top right-hand side.

Need to move an element to a new location? Hover over it look for the dots that appear around the element on the top middle. Click on it and drag the element to another location.

I think that about covers everything. I suggest before you begin to build, to drag elements onto the page as many as you can to get a feel for how it works, to practice, etc.

As always, if you need help or have questions, I’m only a click away!! Happy website building!!!
