What does everyone think so far?
I think Colin Powell looks as good a Republican Secretary of Defense as you'll ever get, and could be quite good for the world. However, Condaleeza Rice is extremely bad news.

I think its very interesting to watch what the press has to say....

You know, the press is made majorily of democrats because there aren't too many republican journalists or newsmen, whatever.... anyway.... democrats, for a long time, have accused republicans of being racist and such.... and granted, republicans have done the same thing to democrats....

The Press actually had a lot of good things to say about his Cabinet members.... and they made a comment about how this isn't a Jesse Jackson move.... Jesse Jackson sits down in Florida whining and complaining his head off that blacks are still segregated and don't get any of the good jobs and he complains until people hire them to stop the complaining.... well, Bush isn't hiring those people... these people, Colin Powell and the others, have worked for these positions and have proved worthy of positions like these, and Bush gives the positions to those he feels deserves them..... not to people who whine about it....

Just an interesting sidenote there....
I don't really have an opinion on whos better or what.....

The Washington Post said to the effect that
although Colin Powell said last Saturday upon being earmarked for secretary of state that he would "work with our allies to re-energize the sanctions regime" against Iraq, in his autobiography he wrote that sanctions rarely work against leaders like Saddam Hussein.
I have to wonder how good of a SoD he'd be when he's already starting to contradict himself.

I don't really agree with any more sanctions, because I think they breach human rights. However, Powell's attitude towards intervening in foreign crises seems to be quite good. Regional powers can put peacekeepers on the ground, however they need air support from the US - which from all I've heard, Powell seems keen to give.

To put it simply, she's isolationist.
Not that I'd expect anything different from a Bush government. What really amazed me was Colin Powell's announcement that he wouldn't turn isolationist.
