Carson is thinking about leaving the GOP and going independent. He's not doing it because he's done or because he's losing faith. He's actually teaming up with Trump on his biggest complaint of this race: the GOP is orchestrating the entire thing and trying to rig it. Both candidates are sick of the GOP's back handed approach to outsider candidates (or anyone who doesn't fit the mold like Cruz).

I agree with both Carson and Trump and I happen to like both Carson and Trump. I'm greatly disillusioned with the GOP. It's clear as day to me that our votes and interest in a candidate really doesn't matter in the slightest. The GOP is running scared because the outsiders are not just winning but ecstatically winning. They're so desperate that they are attacking the party itself. They're not even trying to hide the corruption anymore. They want a RINO even if the citizenry says no.

I'm reminded of my stance three years ago. Back then I considered the GOP an old and dying establishment that was ripe to be replaced with a conservative option. I am not a Republican. I am a Conservative. I think I am returning to that stance. I don't want to be a puppet of the GOP and vote for who they tell me to vote. I don't want to be left with no other option than to vote for a preselected RINO because the only other option is Clinton. I don't want clinton to win. It's our election to lose.

So. If Carson And Trump go so do I and many other registered Republicans. I'd rather be a conservative independent.

Trump is in the same boat. How long can he fight back against the leaders of his own party? They're working harder to take down and discredit Trump than the Democrats are doing. We're doing the work for the Democrats. Cruz will be in the same boat too. He's not an outsider but as a true conservative he's earned the hate of the GOP elite.

So consider this...this thread started with Carson but this is a very real possibility for all of your favorite candidates.

If they leave the GoP that would really shake things up, for better or worse though?

It depends. It's going to end up as a brokered convention as it stands now though. In any case the GOP might not survive this as a party.  This would be a best case scenario because we really need a conservative party.  The GOP has outlived it's usefulness.

Depends....do they want to hand the 2016 election to Hillary Clinton on a silver platter? If so, leave; if not, at least stay and help keep her from winning.
