CDRW

Couple points, and I know some are nitpicky right off the bat, so bear with me.

  1. I know you mean record speed, but since you said CDRW, there are currently no drives that will rewrite anywhere close to 14x.
  2. I'm assuming that you mean "consumer-level" drives. I would imagine that Plextor would have the fastest consumer-level drive, since they've historically come out with the fastest from one generation to the next. Currently, Plextor's fastest drive is only 12x/4x/32x, available in both ATAPI and SCSI.
  3. 14x write speed is kinda an odd speed. I think 16x would be the next logical step. I know Sony and HP released a 10x write drive, but that's like a baby step between 8x and 12x. 14x would be a similar baby step between 12x and 16x. 16x drives are rumored to be right around the corner.
