Sort of my feelings on the subject as well Athena, I don't mind the idea of this for singers to have something to practice to, but I am totally against it for someone running a professional show. Looks like I may be picking the perfect time to leave this business.

neat for someone at home, but for the pros on the forums, i agree with you guys. not to mention......using streaming music???

It's totally an end-user application. Great for practice or having fun with your friends or family in an informal setting. There are hardware attachments for these devices that will allow you to hook them up to a large screen television, but there are no provisions for sign-ups, secondary video feeds, or anything of that nature.

Something like the Dopi site- also meant for the end user. The question is, are there any safeguards in place- or even possible-
to keep KJs from using the service?

If not, this will be just another producer of hack KJs to deal with....

It wouldn't be a very good show if you used it for hosting. Obviously the TOS says it's for personal, private, non-commercial use only, but you know how that goes. The lyrics won't scale very well to larger screens, as we haven't implemented a vector graphics scaling factor into the software at this time.

In short, if someone really wanted to, and didn't care about video quality too much, and didn't mind keeping up with sign-up slips and doing a manual rotation, then yes, it could be used to run a show. It wouldn't be professional-quality, but there you are.

BTW, no offense taken, it's a natural question.
