Mother often knows best. But when she starts ordering her children to eat a lollipop licked by a stranger with a nasty virus, it's time for someone else to step in.
In this instance, that someone is the federal government.
As The Associated Press recently reported, a few parents have been using the Internet to obtain contaminated candies - or other items - as an alternative to vaccinating their children from varicella, otherwise known as chickenpox.
