A black woman is recorded assaulting her teenage son when she noticed he was a participant in yesterday's uprising against police domestic terror in Baltimore, Maryland. CNN noted Baltimore's police captain encouraging the black woman's behavior. However, black American revolutionaries and thinkers see a different side. The black woman (or mother) did not see her actions as helping the oppressor. She saw it as an act of parental protection. Others who disagreed with her actions saw it as a black woman natural propensity to tear down the self-esteem and tenacity of a young man to participate in the good fight against evil. Revolutionaries say she think her actions will save her son from being consumed by the belly of the beast. What she fail to realize and those who agree with her is that her son is vulnerable to police brutality at any time. That is a fact. The mother really should have been participating in the struggle against oppression and the murder of civilians by the police.
