Ocean Spray is announcing a precautionary recall of its original flavor Craisins dried cranberries because they may have small metal fragments inside. The packages that are cause for concern come in 5, 10 and 48 oz. packages, as well as 10 lb. bulk packages. The metal fragments are very small, and are being called "hair like." No injuries have been reported and no other Ocean Spray products are affected by the recall. ( Read More For Product Number)
If you find one of these packages, Ocean Spray says to destroy them and save the UPC label and "best by" date and contact the Consumer Hotline at 1-800-662-3262 for a replace http://www.fox23.com/news/local/story/Craisin-Recall/0mfyiSJeVEi26T6uGvg42g.cspx

Nice. We don't always get recalls when things like this happen. I can't even remember how often I had debris from some machine in some packaged food (like plastic or metal parts). Once I had a package of Kellogg's cornflakes that all tasted like machine oil (it also had black residue on many flakes -- oil probably). And then we get scolded by our food minister that we throw away too much food! (not to mention all the stuff that has gone bad long before its expiry date due to improper storage probably)

I have not had any Ocean Spray product in over 5 years, never thought that anything like this wold happen.
