As you all know, Miley Cyrus has released a new single, "Wrecking Bull," after her previous single, "We Can't Stop."

Personally, I think that she sang this particular song quite well. I feel like she put her emotions into the song and made it sound really good, unlike this one that I recently found...

Now about Miley Cyrus herself...
I personally believe that she is doing what she is doing to shed off her "Hannah Montana" image, and to get everybody's attention. I guess starting a giant thread like this shows that it is actually working, cuz everyone's talking about her. Haha. But you know, she doesn't need to do all that. She needs to realize that she can still keep all of her fans without doing all these ****ty things.

She probably needs a break from all this. After she refreshes her mind, I hope she can get back at it.

I recall reading something, back when the whole twerking incident occurred originally. I can't remember the exact words, so I'll paraphrase it.

"As a child star, Miley was always controlled by Disney. She was told what to do, what to wear, who she could and could not be friends with. Her whole life was not her own; she was a doll, to be played with by executives who desired money and fame. Now she is no longer shackled this way, she can let herself be free. She acts out because she is finally allowed to do so. She never grew to be her own person as a child, so she's taking the time now to test the waters."

That is absolutely understandable. I see that she didn't want to be controlled by everyone. She might sill want to have some sort of decency in her acts.

I don't mind her music and I think she's trying to make some sort of statement although I personally am not too keen on downloading any of her new songs. Wrecking Ball was a nice video I feel.

Getting off with a hammer and swinging naked on a wrecking ball is... nice?
The song, yes - but the video is far too provocative to be nice and pretty much removes the decency of the song, purely because you hear it and think back to a naked girl on a huge ball who can't seem to keep her tongue in her mouth.

I s2g the whole world is just fixated on miley cyrus rn

I know. The fact people care more about a girl choosing to be naked on a ball in her own music video is more important to discuss than human life and war. It's a crazy world. :')

Nice as in good. I liked the way she expressed herself without letting society's views on the subject get in her way.

A bit of an exaggerated comment, Starry. Some people are not even aware of who Miley Cyrus is.

Tommy, as rude as it sounds: wars are old news - as is poverty and everything else. I mean, Syria didn't even stay in the social eye as long as Miley has and that is recent. In fairness, we are all judging and busting our noses into her life and her life choices - but she chose for that to happen. She has made it so that she is judged as she is, all of it is her decision. She's old enough and has enough intelligence to understand how the backlash will be with her actions, and she deliberately chose to carry it out that way. She is doing nothing but losing a lot of respect she once had.

It's not even just her music video. She's having a personality crisis and it really is showing. You can't get a huge amount lower than being aware that you are an idol of many young children, and going and dancing dirty and provocative, rubbing your backside against the crotch of a 36 year old man who is married.

I've heard people defending Miley Cyrus saying that the nudity in "Wrecking Ball" represents vulnerability. However, I do not think it's true. If she was just sitting in the nude in say, a bathroom, crying and singing her song, then THAT would be vulnerability. However, she's sexualizing everything in her music videos nowadays that her riding the wrecking ball isn't vulnerable in my eyes, it's sexual. Personally, if she had gone for a more emotional approach on the music video it would be much better in my opinion.

Then there's her image. She is asking for attention, that is clear. But honestly, this is going to blow over like everything else. Remember when Britney Spears shaved her head? Of course you do, but no one talks about it anymore. She is definitely going through a phase, a rather bad one if I do say so myself, but I'm pretty sure someday she'll straighten up and get back on track.

Welcome to the world. We care more about making sure people don't say **** than we care about making sure children don't see graphic violence on TV.

Well, I don't know...
The fact of the matter is that Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Madonnah all did the same things Miley has done.
Perhaps Miley does this with a different reason than all these people.

Han Yeah she is, and she's really succeeding in doing so. When she was on Chatty Man earlier this week she said on her interview she's getting exactly what she wants from the public. Well done to her. She's a really nice young woman living her life how she wants and it must be hard to do after being the whole Hannah Montana act for Disney.

Any parents annoyed with Miley should just monitor their media intake more.
