The primary purpose of education is to build your knowledge. The secondary purpose of education is to get a job and make money. However, these days, most jobs are skilled-based, you don't even require a university education to get a job as long as you are an expert on technical skills. For example, you don't need to be an MBA to become a graphic designer and make money.
The world is changing at a very fast pace. Lots of jobs nowadays requires one to be able to have some basic skills that will help to move the business forward. This doesn't mean that going to school (university) is not important again since you need to be in school to acquire knowledge too.
Well , this is the choice of the individual to make, though the value of a good college education cannot be overemphasized but if the individual still thinks they can do well without it then it's left to them. I am currently in college right now though the things I am doing to earn money isn't related to what I am studying but it is still worth the experience and exposure I gain acquiring a college education.
I don’t think anyone really needs to go to university unless the job you want requires it like being a teacher or a doctor. A lot of people go because it’s the normal thing to do but in most cases people would be better off doing courses that teach them about their job or just trying to get into the industry they want and save the money.
You don't have to go to univeristy if you don't want to, but I think it opens up a lot of opportunities for people that do go. Not because a degree in and of itself is important, but simply having the paper that says you have a degree lets you go for so many more jobs.
I think university is less about the education nowadays and more about the money and status of a degree due to how competitive and crowded it is in the job market right now.
You don't need to go. In fact, a lot of people can do well without one. In fact, maybe most people could do without one. Anyway, a technical school will be a lot less than college or university - and the funny part is that trades can often you earn you as much or more as a college degree.
