When starting a website, you will always need to invest some kind of money into it unless you choose to do it as a hobby and freely hosted.

Most are able to launch their websites and in time earn enough for it to pay for itself but that can always take time.

Does your website pay for itself yet?

It don't at the moment. In fact, I pay for the hosting cost with a writing job, but the hosting bill is only around $8 a month. Anyway, if I can get more traffic, I'd like to set up paid classifieds.

Actually, $10 or less in AdSense earnings etc. would pay for most people's hosting or pay them back for it. Do you all feel it's tough to even get that much? It can be in many circumstances, maybe most.

I have had Google Adsense on a forum I co-own now since 2020 and I have only made just over £30 since then, you need to make £60 (or $60 US) to be eligible for the payout so depending on the traffic and content you have on your forum, it can take a while.
