The biggest difference is a new tab on the options that allows you to set the priority.
Basically, it acts like Task Manager in NT/2000.

Other than that, a bunch of bug fixes.

2.8.4 out now, can't see any differences though it might be more reliable on Intel based PCs?

It recognises the new proteins and gives them pictures (Alzheimer2 etc.)

And there are supposedly some bug fixes, as well as reduced CPU usage by EM itself.
