A **** nasty virus, got our company...my buddy let the **** thing in...spread like wild fire, set some of our work back 2 months. Wanna kill the person who wrote this one.

Good info, but this sort of post belongs more in a forum like the Water Cooler than Hot Deals. I hate to seem anal about it, but the Hot Deals forum could become clogged REALLY quick if non deal-related posts start cluttering it up. That's one of the reasons there's probably about 60 million other forums on aliensoup

This is the fastest virus yet to move thru the net like it did.
There is a net warning about a email FW:JOKE which has the same virus attach to VeryFunny.vbs. Be careful what email ya open for a while eh.........

After having an intriguing discussion with oldcycles, I've decided that particularly important virus alerts will be allowed in the hotdeals forum (people are lazy) since it is our highest viewed area here in the forums. We want this information to reach our largest userbase in the quickest amount of time, to save a few headaches. I apologize for moving this without more involved thought.

This is not an invitation to chaos however, I don't want to hear about how bad you got the damned monkey virus last week. Subscribe to the proper security lists, check for updates of your virus software on a continual basis, and watch the media now and then, they were pretty quick on this one (msnbc, cnbc, zdnet).

Common sense welcome.

haha this hit us yesterday and it amazes me how many idoits don't think something is fishy when they see 50 messages in their inbox that all have the same subject and body. Even today morons are still opening the stupid thing and sending it out again even though our IT guys sent out big mass mailings telling us not to open it and went around and put a little sheet on everyones desk saying DONT OPEN IT.

Sometimes I think viruses like that one are funny as hell just for the fact that they let you know who the retards in your organization are.
