External HDDs for extra storage

Does anyone have an external hard drive to give you an extra load of storage at all? I have an external hard drive but I only use it to store backups of my file systems. I don't use it as a plain storage point because I have plenty in my computer already.

If you do have an external HDD, how much storage does it have and what do you use it for?

I don't own any external storage devices as I always try and save and share things digitally now to remove the risk of losing them and also to ensure things don't get lost either. I used to have some USB drives a very long time ago but as they're so easy to misplace and often not very big in size I opt for cloud storage instead.

I have a 500GB external hard drive that I use for some additional storage but I only really use it for storing backups of my photos and I don't really take that many photos so it's not that full. I think I've used about half of it. I mainly use cloud storage.
