KOSOVSKA MITROVICA, Yugoslavia (Reuters) - French peacekeepers came under attack from Molotov ****tails, stones and at least one grenade in a second straight day of clashes with ethnic Albanians in the town of Mitrovica.

Bah.
Although I'm usually a staunch advocate of the involvement of peacekeepers in such situations, I think now it's time to pull them out. When they're being attacked by both sides, they no longer have a purpose in being there. I think watch will still need to be kept over the area, like with the Middle East, but even still, the peacekeepers have done all they can. It's time to leave.
At first, there was a definite purpose, as they were needed to ensure the safety of Kosovar Albanians. Now, all's as well as it's likely to get anytime soon, and each side wants to kill each other, and kill the peacekeepers for stopping them killing each other. It's just going to be a situation like Northern Ireland. It might be solved. One day. By peace talks. Not by having peacekeepers there.
