Having witnessed and going past a serious accident involving a car two police (one of whom smashed up with an officer jumping out the way) and 3 lorries what are your thoughts on HGV drivers?

I reckon england should introduce a german type system where they have to stay in on lane and can only move into the fast lane when there is a slow moving vehicle ie a tractor for example.

The amount of accidents on the a500 I go past involving HGV is mind boggling some I could of been involved with them just drifting into my lane without warning (even when it's not windy)

I'm not saying all lorries drivers are bad hell I've seen decent drivers doing hard maneuvers and whiping them in and out in seconds.

It is slightly annoying when they overtake each other on the motorway. I once joined the M4 where it starts at Swansea and it's only two lanes for a while - there was a lorry overtaking another lorry at 60mph and it took about 5 minutes to do so which cause a lot of traffic to back up behind them. I know they do want to overtake slower moving vehicles and I'm fine with it when they're only taking up two out of three lanes, not the entire road.

Also the lorries for mainland Europe are the dodgy ones because they have such a blindspot due to being left hand drive (or they don't look) and seem to pull out without much warning.

I have all this to look forward to when I start driving :')

Trust me it's **** scary when a lorry pulls out of you infront without warning I've had it a few times the last time where we nearly crashed was when I was in my mates van coming home from work in the morning the wind almost pushed his whole truck onto our lane.

Fortunately I haven't had too much trouble with HGV drivers...yet. *prays I don't* They're a pain in the arse driving home because there's nowhere I can overtake them without speeding. Only issues I've ever had with them is if I'm on a roundabout and they just decide to charge out in front of me, blocking my exit too.
