Before I get started, I have to say I REALLY do NOT like Hillary Clinton and I don't want her as a senator for NY.

This crap about her making a racial slur WAY back in the 70s. What the hell? I'm sorry, but that's insane! It was 26 years ago! Who gives a rat's patooty what she said 26 years ago?! She probably has nothing against Jews. The guy was a **** and he was a Jew. What the crap was she to have said? Geez. To bring something like that up and try to make such a big deal about it is ridiculous.

What do you guys think about it? Is it something that should be dragged into this election or is it just floundering around for SOMETHING?

I agree with you...I'm a registered Democrat, but I do believe Hillary to be a carpetbagger. I don't know if I can vote for her ethically.

That being said, I think it's a muck-raking tactic. She used a slur against someone - I don't think I know of anyone who HASN'T used an ethnic slur at one point or another in their life. But I believe it's an attempted character assassination instead of a look at issues that *really* matter - like education, employment, housing, and the economy. I'd like to know her opinions on *those* issues.

She can call me a filthy Polock all she wants to for all I care - as long as she'll address the above issues.

I understand Lazio didn't bring it up, that it was in a book, but why the crap would some idiot print that in a book? The things people focus on baffle me. Who cares if she calls me a rifle totin hillbilly cracker?!

It has nothing to do with how she'll run the state.

I think her chances might have been better had she left the playboy when she found out he was cheating and screwing around.

Do we really want someone as our senator who is dumb enough to stay with cheating scum? People say her personal life doesn't matter and how she handled it doesn't matter, but it does. To me it makes it look like she was either too weak to leave him (and I don't want some weak chick as my senator) or that she felt she'd get some political leverage if she was the president's wife (and I don't want someone who has to use someone else as leverage in this way as my senator)

I can see them bringing up the comment if it was *recently* made, but I honestly don't see it having anything to do with *now*. I mean, (and this will sound weird from me..) we all do stupid sh*t when we're young. Really, really stupid sh*t. And, I could see them bringing it up if she made a habit of it, because personal prejudices *would* influence how she governed, but if she said it once or twice or *ten* times, I fail to see how that makes a difference..especially since it was over 26 years ago. Sheesh.
