How many VSA-100 chips does it take to beat a GeForce2? 1? 2? 4? 8?

Looks like the answer is 8. The VSA-100, as you might recall, is the CPU behind the now defunct 3DFX Voodoo4/5. Hey, slap 100 ViRGE chips together, and you too can compete against the GeForce.

Quantum 3d makes cards for graphics professionals.. when the V4 and V5 were announced.. 3dfx already said they would licence and allow Quantum3d to make professional cards using the VSA-100.. I believe that 3dfx stated that Quantum was going to make a card with 24 VSA-100's which is the upper limit of the # of chips.. (i think)..

these cards are not designed to compete w/ the Geforce(2) or the Radeon..
