I insulted you! When? Long ago.

I have always had a particular fondness of anachronistic insults.

A perfect example of which would be to call someone a pestilian.

Back in **** Turpin's day this would be someone who would kneel on all fours before a stagecoach, so that some coal-and-flour-smudged gentry could step upon them to ease the perilous ascent in to the lofty carriage.

Does anyone else have any non-contemporary verbal barrages? and if it's not to risqée, would you care to come hither and have a go?

( If thee think thou hard enough)

:mischief:

What a great topic...I must get the wheels in my 'noggin' turning so that I might actually contribute.

Trollop!

Wee-hoo..yay for me. I thought of an old-fashioned insult ;)

"Strumpet" always makes me laugh.

I heard a great one the other day at rehearsal for Midsummer Night's Dream. One character yells at another, "...thou painted maypole!"

I've used that one at least 4 times since yesterday afternoon. :)

Here are a few:

codpiece, dewberry, maggot-pie, vassal, fustilarian
