I was watching wrestling with my friend the other day and an argument ensued that wrestling is just acting and the beating and injuries are not real. While I think wrestling is real, he says otherwise. What do you think about this?

Wrestling comes with a lot of acting and well scripted performance to give the audience a more entertaining experience. Most of the stunts performed are done to avoid real damage made on the bodies of the wrestlers.

Wrestling is a game of little bit of reality and a lot of drama. Boxing is 100 percent real, however, wresting is not 100 percent real. Wrestingly is a performance, and not a sport.

Oh! So, it is basically to entertain the fans and nothing more about inflicting pains on the opponents. I was worried when they always advise fans should not try the stunts at home, but I have been cleared of doubts by your comment.

Some of the stunts may look so real, but were done after many long hours of practice so it could look so perfect and have the feeling that it is causing a lot of damage to the bodies of the wrestlers.

Even without someone telling me about the reality scene of wrestling, I'll doubt that, it is real. The fighting is full with tricks, that's why they advised people not to try those stunts in their house to avoid incurring injuries.

When it was WWF, I would have sworn that wrestling ‍♂️ was real but now that it's changed to WWE, everything or at least 90% of everything that happens in the company is scripted.

I think that some part of what they do is real. It's why they always tell viewers to not try anything they do at home. Although, they have so many actors nowadays.

It's the kind of match stipulations that's been played would tell you if the match is going to be a real one or just their normal usual.

It might be a mix of real happenings and acting. I'm not sure. In other words, things are planned but spontaneous things occur.

I always think that some things happen unplanned when wrestling is ongoing such as the injuries and all of that. No wrestler goes into the ring with the mindset that they will be coming out injured.

I keep asking my kids this same question all the time. And they keep saying it's not real. How can all the beatings be fake?
I still find it difficult to believe ;)
Is it real or fake

I believe that some part of it is real while some other part of it are all scripted and acted out. They are even making use of a lot of graphics in wrestling today and it's likely why it's called an entertainment instead of sports.
