The Jaguar Project 7 gets an upgraded version of the F-type's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, with power boosted to 542bhp
The Jaguar Project 7 will make its world debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The one-off design study is based on the new F-type roadster, with bespoke bodywork and a range of chassis and engine upgrades.
The Project 7 name refers to the number of times Jaguar has won the Le Mans 24 Hours race, while the blue and white paintwork was inspired by victorious Jaguar D-types of the mid 1950s.
Exterior changes over standard F-type models include a new front bumper with larger air intakes and a carbon-fibre front splitter. There are also special side skirts, a large rear diffuser and a fixed rear spoilers while the headlights have gloss black – rather than chrome – surrounds.
A lowered windscreen gives a more racy look, while the folding roof system has been replaced by a rollover hoop and a bespoke fairing behind the driver's head that is also influenced by D-type race cars.
