This is getting ridiculous. The US must stop holding Israel back from defending itself. Screw the 'coalition against terrorism'. It's time to back Israel in disposing of the corrupt Palestinian Authority once and for all.

I know I posted this on the main page as well, but I want to be able to discuss this as well..

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A double Palestinian suicide bombing and a car bomb minutes later killed 10 Israelis and wounded more than 150 on Saturday on a crowded street in the heart of a Jerusalem cafe district, Israeli police said.

The blasts, which hurled victims and severed limbs into the air, were described by an Israeli spokesman as the biggest attack in Jerusalem in years and dealt a fresh blow to a new U.S. mission to end 14 months of Israeli-Palestinian violence.

President Bush demanded that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat bring those responsible for the attacks to justice and "act swiftly and decisively against the organizations that support them."

"Now more than ever, Chairman Arafat and the Palestinian Authority must demonstrate through their actions and not merely their words their commitment to fight terror," Bush said in a statement.

Planned talks in the White House between Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon were brought forward to Sunday from Monday to enable the premier to fly home early from the United States to tackle the crisis, U.S. and Israeli officials said.

Israel said it held Arafat directly responsible for the attacks. The Palestinian Authority condemned the bombings, which it said were intended to foil peace efforts, and vowed to investigate who was behind the attacks.

An anonymous telephone caller told Reuters the militant Islamic Jihad movement was responsible but the claim could not be confirmed independently.

TWO SUICIDE BOMBERS

Police said at least 10 people were killed in addition to the two Palestinian suicide bombers who detonated their explosives within moments of each other on a crowded pedestrian mall.

Witnesses said the first blast shook the crowded Ben Yehuda pedestrian street, full of restaurants and cafes and the site of several previous attacks, just before midnight (5:00 p.m. EST). Police said the bombs were packed with nails.

"People flew into the air and there are many people covered in blood," said a woman who gave her name only as Liron.

Minutes later, a bomb exploded in a car about 50 meters (yards) away as about 20 people tried to move it because it was blocking a road needed by ambulances to rush the injured to hospital, the witnesses said.

Another witness, Yossi Mizrahi, said: "I saw people without arms. I saw a person with their stomach hanging open. I saw a 10-year-old-boy breathe his last breath. I can't believe anybody would do anything like this."

Another attack!

We're waiting, Ariel...

If this isn't a declaration of war by the Palestinian Authority against the state of Israel, then I don't know what is.

-------------------------------------------------------

HAIFA, Israel (Reuters) - A Palestinian suicide bomber killed at least 15 people and wounded dozens more when he blew himself up on a bus in northern Israel on Sunday, hours after a double suicide attack killed 10 people in Jerusalem.

The bombings were among the deadliest attacks in Israel in years and marked one of the bloodiest phases of a 14-month-old Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation. They threatened to wreck a new U.S. peace mission led by envoy Anthony Zinni.

President Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority, under intense U.S. pressure to crack down on radical groups, declared a state of emergency and ordered its security forces to arrest militants who had planned and carried out the attacks.

Leading fierce international criticism of the attacks, President Bush condemned the bombings before talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in Washington.

"This is a moment where the advocates for peace in the Middle East must rise up and fight terror. Chairman Arafat must do everything in his power to find those who murdered innocent Israelis and bring them to justice," he said.

The militant group Hamas, which opposes Israel's existence, claimed responsibility. It said the attacks were to avenge Israel's November 23 killing of Mahmoud Abu Hanoud, a Hamas military leader regarded by Israel as a master bombmaker.

A senior Palestinian security source said dozens of militants had been arrested since Saturday night across the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said Arafat would be tested "by deeds alone" and that the Palestinian leader's previous arrests of militants had proved a "farce."

"This may be the most serious crisis in Israel-Palestinian relations," a Foreign Ministry statement quoted Peres as saying.

The Israeli army responded to the bombings by tightening its blockade of the West Bank and encircling Palestinian cities it had not already surrounded because of "numerous warnings of future attacks."
