Legal use of ectasy?

The Food and Drug Administration has approved the first study of the illegal party drug Ecstasy as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. Conscious of the need for drugs to treat the disorder after the Sept 11 attacks, the Multidisiplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, a non-profit group working to have psychedelic drugs approved as medicines, applied in October for government approval of a study in which 20 people will take Ecstasy during therapy sessions. The theory is that the drug will reduce fear so patients can talk about the trauma.

Sounds like crap to me. What the heck medical use could there be for something like Ecstasy?

I honestly do not buy the theory that it will reduce fear for therapy patients.

And where are they gonna get the stuff? Buy it at a rave? :tongue:
 
It also causes you to trip out, and there are many negative side effects. I have never used the stuff (and I never will), but since I work part time for a rave promotion company, and I ocationaly attend raves because I like the music, and I have seeen plenty of people on it, and it aint a purdy picture.
 
::shrug:: i dunno... but most drugs (legal) have some nasty side effects too. i mean, diahrea is never a pretty picture! :lol:
i really have no knowledge on this subject. that is just something i learned on dateline. :rolleyes: i guess maybe it could help those who don't experience the side effects. and those that do, well, they get to go down partying! :bgrin:
 
Well, at least with mass-produced drugs you know what you're getting. With Ecstasy, who knows who the hell made it.

Let's start legalizing meth labs while we're at it :dork:
 
well if it were legalized i would think that drug companies would be making it too, so those that are getting it leagally know whats in it...
