(05/14/03) Thursday will bring us a full moon, but something unusual is going to happen to it during the late night hours.

In just more than an hour, the moon is going to be transformed, going strangely dark and glowing with a copper hue. It will be one of nature's most beautiful sites, a total eclipse of the moon.

A cosmic line up is responsible for the sky show; the lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes into the Earth's shadow. The eclipse will begin at 10:03 p.m. and ends at 1:18 a.m. Friday.

The next lunar eclipse will occur on November 8.
