A plaque intended to honor black actor James Earl Jones at a Florida celebration of the life of Martin Luther King instead paid tribute to James Earl Ray, the man who killed the black civil rights leader, officials said Wednesday.

I want to know how that thing ever got out of the factory...
To say that it's "an honest mistake" is just absurd. If anything, it's an inexcusable mistake.
 
Uh yeah, ray, jones, they are spelled almost exactly the same, easy mistake to make. . . YEAH RIGHT. I too wonder how this can be called an honest mistake, they werent even close.

I think this goes beyond the boundaries of any prank.
It's one thing to misspell a man's name. It's another thing entirely to put in the name of the man who killed MLK onto a plaque celebrating the legacy of MLK.
