Majority of Muslims have "unfavorable" view of U.S.

There are portions of this story that have me incredibly aggrevated.

Among the countries that responded this way were Saudi Arabia, who has been more than happy to accept American military and financial air, and Kuwait who has the U.S. to thank that they are not currently an extension of Iraq.

The thing that really bugs me is that many of the countries surveyed are receiving financial aid from the U.S.

Most Muslims surveyed expressed the view that the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States were not justified morally, but larger majorities labeled U.S. military action in Afghanistan "morally unjustifiable."

My suggestion to them is that it's morally unjustifiable to them that they continue to receive money from the U.S. Guiliani had the conviction of his morals to return a significant sum of money because the person giving the money felt the U.S. was responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks. It's absurd that these people will try to quote moral justification while holding their hand out for our money.

I can't help but think that those the pollers interviewed were your basic, run-of-the-mill guy-off-the-street muslim, not a member of the government or military of their country...and that's where US aid has gone, not to the hoi polloi of these nations. Perhaps if Gallup polled the rich and powerful of those nations, they'd have gotten a different response.

But then again, that article gives us no indication exactly who they polled, so we may never know. I might be a bit biased too, as I just took a poll this past weekend where the questions were so incredibly vague & nonsensical, yet they still asked that I respond in a yes/no or favorable/unfavorable fashion.

Then it's even more reasonable to think that these governments shouldn't be accepting our aid. If their constituents disagree with our politics, then it's only morally justified that they run their countries by the will of their people and not accept money and aid from governments who are ruthless and arrogant.
