Over the last several months I been reading many books on Islam. Some paint it as evil and the end of the world. While others paint it as like many faiths good mixed with bad.
I am not so sure how good it is and the more about Islam's history I read the more I tend to think my stance for many years has been wrong on the faith.
Mohammad created the Islam faith to mirror the Catholic faith more or less in the beginning. Though this is not written in the history books so I can't site it. This is my own personal observation on what I have read thus far.
Mecca and Medina were both pretty prosperous cities for Christian and Jew alike when Muhammad was growing up. The Catholic Church had already had 61 popes and was well known in his part of the world. Though people in that part did still worship many gods and those people that worshipped Gods such as Al-Lat, Manah, Al-Uzza. These were the people who converted to Islam for the most part in the beginnings of the faith start.
Even the Black Rock in Mecca that has many people going to touch it because it is holy according to Muhammad. The problem is this rock was taken and adopted into the Islamic religion from the religion many of its converts originally were a part of.
This shows me Muhammad knew he would need to use things in order to bring Converts to his religion. So why did Muhammad create this farce? He saw how well the Jews and the Christians were doing in his lands and wanted the same for those of his people. How do you do it? You organize them so that you can set them on the same road the Christians and Jew were on.
He incorporated enough Christian doctrine and tried but failed to incorporate certain hierarchal plans as the Catholic Church others did take. I believe he wanted a set of rulers much like the Catholic Church such as Pope, Bishops, etc.. This unfortunately never took after his death why one could speculate. One reason could be because it was not as organized as he could have had it upon his death so it splintered from there that would be my theory from what I have read to this point. Though the priest part of the Catholic Church did stick because they have Imams at every mosque.
He also incorporated part of Jewish doctrine into Islam. He also incorporated much like the Black Stone in Mecca the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. Al Aqsa Mosque sit on part of the temple and it is believed that Muhammad ascended into heaven from this point.
He incorporated parts of three religions and made them into one. He created a texted that can be taken only in one way those who believe are meant to hurt those who do not.
People at this point would ask why? I would say out of Jealousy, spite, wanting. They want to have the prosperity that Christians and Jews have but for the most part do not. The religion is based on false pretenses I tend to believe that are meant to hurt others when God in all retrospect is against such things.
After reading all I have read and it has been from many angles I have read about this. I would have to agree this faith is based on a lie more or less.
Though I know you think Christianity is also and it very well may be. Though Christianity has more historical evidence to back it up then Islam does. Also Christianity is not a bad faith people turn it to do bad things. In the Bible it Jesus say no where in it to slaughter the innocents because they don't believe.
Whereas Islam declares war on all unbelievers.
Not so much a Cult. Muhammad started it in the hopes that those who followed him would become prosperous as the Christians and Jews were at that time. He did not like the fact that these people were doing well while those who worshipped the old Gods were poor and not prosperous at all.
He saw this as unjust and unfair so to tip the balance in favor of his people he took from his old ways along with Christian and jewish ways and add them to make Islam. I believe his plan was to unit his people in the hopes they would become well off. He also did this in the hopes that Christians and Jews alike would convert over trying to make it favorable for his followers. He did this in real time figuring it worked for Jesus so it would work for him.
The only problem is it started to splinter after his death and many branches of Islam were created in the many years after his death.
His hierarchy concept was based of the Roman Catholic church as in my OP. Though it did not quite follow through and the main parts fell apart. His hope I believe would be one leader for his religion like the pope. What happened was you have many Leaders which in truth are no higher then a Priest and no sole leader to direct them.
He made the faith a warrior faith in the hopes his followers would conquer all other faith making his people the sole prosperous people in the world. He did this all intentionally because he was disgruntled with his peoples status in life.
