SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A former cast member of MTV's "Real World" was arrested on Saturday after bungee jumping from San Francisco's famous 225-foot-high Golden Gate Bridge, authorities said.
Jamie Murray, a 23-year-old former cast member of the "Real World" shows taped in New Orleans, was arrested for trespassing around 7 a.m. PDT after an officer saw him dangling in his cord, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Murray, founder of a San Francisco-based online outdoor sports company, said his dive off the bridge was not related to his stint as a cast member on the Real World show nor MTV's Real World/Road Rules extreme challenge show, the spokesman said.
Murray faces fines of up to $10,000 and community service for trespassing on the suspension bridge.
