This is a movie my roommate had me go see. Basically, the idea is that the main character lost his short term memory, and he cannot make new memories. He must write everything down. He does have an intact long term memory and he claims he is capable of remembering through conditioning his instincts.
The 3 things to understand about this movie is that:
1) Our hero's wife died, and he supposedly got injured to receive this condition, at that time.
2) He is looking for the murderer of his wife.
3) The movie starts at the end and goes to the beginning....to simulate his condition for us.
My opinion? The movie is strange, yet very thought provoking. I believe it is very much worth seeing...maybe not in the theater (unless you go to the matinee showing), but perhaps a rental. This way, you can wind back to parts to try to piece the movie together. Watch it with a friend....I gaurantee you and your friend will be discussing the movie. I was definitely entertained.
