You using win98se or win2k? Hmm, few things to try..

Try clearing out your windows temp folder.

Try getting a new copy of the mail executable, and urlmon.dll as well.

Is your computer running warm or cool? All cards inserted properly? A short causes things like this too, as well as heat, memory errors, irq conficts, it's endless.

Lastly, if you're desperate to recieve those e-mails asap, just download Netscape and import your messages into Netscape to read them. Heh.

If you're using Win98, you can probably use the System File Checker to extract a fresh copy of URLMON.DLL from the cab files.

Just go to Start|Run and type in 'sfc' (without the quotes).

Also, have you checked http://support.microsoft.com yet? The Microsoft Knowledge Base is the first place you should check for dll problems.

From another BBS:
"hmm... Cyrix III, huh? You can put syrup on sh*t, but that don't make it pancakes."

I started having trouble again and deleted Real Player, problem solved (I think).
