New ICQ too AIMish

Has anyone else installed the newest beta of ICQ (2001b, I think)? If so, is there any way to get rid of the red/blue user names within a conversation? It's way too reminiscent of AIM, and I can't stand it.

I'm still using 2000b, but ICQ has always been so customizable, I'm sure that you could change it so it looks the way you're used to.

Heck, with enough customization, I could still get 2000b to look like the version I used back in '98.

That's why I'm so surprised that I havne't been able to figure out how, if there is a way, DD. I can't imagine them having this a permanent feature, knowing full well that many of their faithful users from the beginning stick with them because of their no-frills ways. I'm not liking this

Well, seeing as how ICQ and AIM are owned by the same place...who knows.

I prefer ICQ, but it seems like more of my friends have AIM, so I end up actually using AIM more.
