Authorities arrested a New Jersey bus driver after children on a school bus called their parents to report the woman swerving and falling asleep behind the wheel.
Carole Crockett, 46, faces 25 counts of driving under the influence with a minor and child endangerment, the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reported.
Students reportedly called their parents complaining of Crockett's driving. The parents then called Westampton Middle School, which alerted police.
Officers were dispatched to the area and found Crockett at Holly Hills School trying to pick up more students. She was arrested on the spot.

Even as a teen years ago, I had a big problem with those who drive while intoxicated. It's bad enough if you want to get yourself killed. But to put everyone else at-risk is cold.

How hard can it be to at least partially understand the potential consequences? You hear about terrible things happening in the news all the time thanks to those who get behind the wheel when they shouldn't?!

School bus driver need more of a background check before being issue a license to drive one. Safety is the first concern for children, not getting drunk.

I think anybody who operates under the influence should be forced to serve a one year jail sentence. Then maybe people who are so reckless will come to see how serious committing this type of crime really is.

When I mean a one year jail sentence, I mean for everyone convicted of DUI, not just bus drivers who transport children.

I bet the OUI rates in this nation would significantly decrease if lawmakers decided to pass such laws.

Think it's too harsh? Try telling that to any parent who has lost a child thanks to an irresponsible driver, or someone who lost their spouse because of these people, etc.

Every case is different in the United States, these law on drinking and driving in each state depends on their laws. People who disobey this law should be sent to jail on the first offense, perhaps this would teach a person common sense not to get behind the wheel in the first place.

Yeah, but picture this: Daddy is alone at home, getting ****faced. Daughter is visiting a club. Daughter's boyfriends drop her on the roadside for being a pain, daughter grabs cell phone and calls daddy: "Daddyyyyyy, I'm alone on road XYZ, can you please pick me up." -- Daddy can't see straight but immediately rushes to pick up his daughter. They either get home safely or they don't. But would you send this daddy to jail?

Exactly..not every person that get behind the wheel drunk to help a family member should be sentenced a year in jail..yet it a possibly there could be an accident to kill or injured another person.

Unfortunately some folks could care less about risking other people's lives.

But for those of us who have a conscience, think about how the guilt would eat you alive if you maimed or killed someone because you operated while drunk or stoned. You'd never be able to live with yourself, and with good reason.
