Zalman ZM80C-HP Review @ NordicHardware

"We shall today take a close look at a new revision of an earlier popular cooler from the famous company Zalman. It is their latest graphics card cooler, ZM80C-HP. The earlier version is named ZM80A-HP, and you can read a review of it here. The difference from the earlier cooler is among other things that you can mount a fan on it and make this cooler active, what you benefit from this is to be found out during this review."

ColorCase.com's Ahanix SilenX 350watt PSU Review @ GruntvillE

"Today we’ll be looking at the SilenX 350 Watt PSU from Ahanix; a unit designed to meet your power needs and do so in a near silent manner. Their homepage states: “The power supplies offer the quality and reliability that you need for mission critical applications. Plentiful cables and a generous amount of overhead for the most demanding systems. Built to tolerate environments that exceed its own specifications, sometimes by as much as 50%, these power supplies are rugged and built to withstand what you throw at it!” Let’s see if it truly lives up to their marketing and is worth your almighty dollar."

Antec Modular TruePower 550W PSU @ Viper Lair

"The PSU is modular (or segmented), where you only have to plug in the necessary cables that you need. So, at the minimum, you'll need an ATX, and 12v for most modern motherboards, a couple 4-pin molex connections for a hard drive and CD drive, and a floppy connection for a video card or floppy. Let's add 2 more 4-pin molex connections for case fans, and that brings our total to 7 connections."

Arkua Q85X7J Heatpipe Pentium 4 Heatsink Review @ FrostyTech

"Heatpipes have been finding their way into more and more heatsinks for a couple of very good reasons. They are very efficient at moving thermal energy, so heatpipes allow designers to try new things, and that helps to distinguish their product in a sea of other designs. Heatpipes have also come into their own for practical reasons. By orienting the fins of a cooler parallel to the base there is a clear path for air to enter, and then leave the fins with a minimum of noise inducing turbulence, or back pressure. Less forceful fans can be used in situations such as this to maintain the cooling level, with a third, or even half as much noise as a traditional impingement orientation may create."

ASUS P4P800S-E Wireless Edition @ [H]ard|OCP

Removing the IHS from the Northwood-D @ Madshrimps

"In our endeavors as Overclockers we have a propensity for continually pushing hardware to its limits. When voltages and BIOS settings no longer suffice, we begin physically modifying our hardware. This led me to tearing down my P4 2.4C Malay in stages, if you will. Initially I lapped the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) to its copper, and then went back and did it again."

Thermaltake TR2TT TR2-M4 Cooler Review @ BigBruin

"The TR2TT TR2-M4 has a very interesting appearance. A unique fan, referred to as the X-Blower by Thermaltake, sits atop the heatsink and is designed to evenly cool the entire surface of the heatsink. The fan works well at all RPM levels, but noise sensitive users will really appreciate the TR2-M4's available whisper quiet performance."

Dual Channel OCZ Premier PC3700 2x256mb @ SubZerotech

"As things have been developing here at the Subzerotech lab I have noticed that a few memory manufacturers are selling PC3700 memory with chips that given the proper environment can perform at and above PC4000/DDR500 speeds. This, of course, is a good thing for consumers, since some of us can manage to purchase PC3700 and then in our high end motherboards run it at much higher speeds and in some cases lower CAS latencies as well."

Ximeta 80 Gig NetDisk @ MHW

"Floppy drive, Zip drive, Super Disk, Tape drive, Burner, Flash drive, I have owned them all For one reason or another I haven't been entirely satisfied with any of them. In fact, even with all the storage devices at my disposal, most times I am in a hurry and I just back up my data on the network. That's were the Ximeta comes in. You see, the Ximeta NetDisk is not only an 80 GIG 7200 RPM, USB 2.0 external hard drive, it is also an Ethernet drive. So I can continue to back up my data over the network, except now it is in a convenient portable form."

ABIT IC7-MAX3 i875P Motherboard @ OCAU

"With the introduction of DDR 500 in summer 2003, which can be in extreme cases overclocked to 300 MHz and more, some users suddenly realized that their IC7 would not allow them to exceed 255 MHz whatever latency or voltage setting they applied. We experienced the same phenomenon when we tested A-DATA DDR 500 memory on an IC7-G as shown in our earlier test report. Modules with 256 MB were running at 283 MHz on the P4C800-E, but the IC7 did not allow for more than 255 MHz. Whatever voltage or latency setting we tried: the IC7 did not boot above 255 MHz. The same happened initially with our test Max 3 using BIOS version 11. It took ABIT some time to fix this issue with new BIOS releases. However, we can now confirm that ABIT did even more than just fixing the 255 MHz limitation issue."

Silverstone Technologies 360W PSU @ ClubOverClocker

"The realm of power supply manufacturers seems like an endless loop of choices, especially since the market has started gearing power requirements that exceed that of computer hardware manufacturers. That's good news for us Overclockers, because it gives us an almost guaranteed stable system when shopping for a good power supply. For us veteran Overclockers that go back to the year 1998, Enermax was pretty much the only choice in power supplies simply due to the fact that it had dual fans, and it met or exceeded the overall wattage requirements of a typical overclocked P3, Celeron, or K7 slot-A Athlon. A problem arose back in 2000 when Iwill introduced their infamous KK-266, which was the king when it came to overclocking Athlons and running 150+ FSB speeds using SDRAM. Your typical Enermax just couldn't keep the 5v line stable enough to run good FSB speeds which in turn, gave you a bottleneck in your system running stable with a good overclock. Then along came a few fellas that researched the 5v line problem, and then everyone started modding their power supplies to give out an increase on the 5v line."

Notebook Tweak Guide @ Tweak3D

"We've posted a new tweak guide! This time we've covered the basics of tweaking notebook computers. Our portable buddies suffer from poor battery life, performance, and excess heat, and our goal was to eliminate some of these problems (at least partially). Covered in the guide are tweaks to prolong battery life, make the notebook faster, clean the screen/keyboard/touchpad/case, prevent burning crotches, and more uses for your notebook."
