$600 does seem out of wack.. but you have to consider why they priced it that way. This card was suppose to compete w/ the V5 6k which had the same price tag.. also the Geforce2 ultras are between $400 and $500 bucks..
And most people buying the Geforce3 won't get an Oxygen cuz they wanna have the high fps numbers for games and not graphics proggies..
There WAS a reason that 3dfx went out of business... poor business decisions. I would include an ESP of $600 for a video card to be included in that category.

hmmmmmm I think a Radeon will be on my purchase list as my next upgrade. Besides, ATI has made good all around video cards. Just that their 3D blew chunks, for the most part, until the Radeon came around. Now that I see how well they perform, I'm all about getting one.

JH> The Radeon is nice, but not good for gaming if you're using Win2k. There's a much steeper performance drop-off from Win98->Win2k than there is with Nvidia cards. It seems pretty clear that this is because of drivers, but ATI has always been iffy on the NT/2k support side. http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1422
