Well.. the long awaited (not) line of geforce Titanium cards are out ..

"To summarize the performance trends we've seen:

The GeForce3 Ti 500 is approximately 10% faster than the GeForce3 at 1024 x 768 x 32; 16% at 1600 x 1200 x 32.
The GeForce3 is approximately 9% faster than the GeForce3 Ti 200 at 1024 x 768 x 32; 14% at 1600 x 1200 x 32.
The GeForce2 Ti 200 is identical in performance to the GeForce2 Pro.
The Radeon 7500 is competitive with the GeForce2 Ti 200, not with the GeForce3 Ti 200.
The Radeon 8500 has more memory bandwidth than the GeForce3 Ti 500. "

if you guys frind other interesting reviews of the line of cards.. post em.. :)

is there anything that truely uses this technology yet. I mean anything that was designed with such powerfull cards in mind, or are the older g-forces still more then sufficient?

the only game right now that pops in my head is Max Payne.. and if you have a geforce2 pro or Ultra (or geforce2 Ti).. it's sufficient for all the settings and eyecandy turned on..

if you have something less.. you'll be playin on medium detail.. which was good enough in my case.. (i have a gefoce1 DDR slightly overclocked)

Yeah thats what I figured. Right now Im stuck with my voodoo 3, and its hindering me alot. I really want to play Black and White, and max payne but I just cant get my video card to cooporate. Stupid thing.

it's being suggested that the gf3 Ti200 would be a pretty good value card.. think it'll run around $200 when it comes out.. think of it as a geforce3 MX

Max Payne is rather playable on my GeForce MX card. No complaints, here, really. Based on reading that article, I'll wait and see what the 8500 does before doing anything. The GeForce3 Ti 200 sounds like a deal, though. :)

I'll let you know how the ATI-8500 card runs the game. I jumped in on the Dell 20% deal that was going on the other night. The price of the card shipped was $203. Even if it's only on par from a performance perspective with the GF3, it's a bargain since it has dual-monitor support.
