Every household in the UK is to have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless they choose to receive it, David Cameron is to announce.

Thoughts? With how much porn there is on the internet I'm not really sure how they're going to block all of it but we'll see.

It'll never work. Messing with the internet is just a no go.

In a way, I kind of get it because then kids won't accidentally scroll upon MOST of it but yeah. It'd be so funny to hear someone call their internet provider to say "unblock my porn plz".

I doubt it will work tbh. People will find ways around it as we always do, lol. I don't care about that much haha, they can do whatever they want with porn.

If parents don't want their kids to see porn they should monitor their usage. IMO there's worse things on the Internet than porn.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Pretty much this ^

If parents really care about it that much, they should just use an internet filter and keep a check on what their kids are looking at.
While Cameron's busy getting his knickers in a twist over porn, I'm sure there's plenty of kids out there watching videos like the beheading video that was massive and incredibly easy to find on Facebook..

I doubt he can do it. Some may be blocked but it can easily be bypassed.

He will probably use the old "corrupting our children theme " but forgets that the utter twaddle that politicians come out with is also corrupting our youth.

I knew you'd be upset. I hope you're looking forward to the awkward conversation with your parents ;)

"Dad... uh, can you get the porn unblocked please?"

^that.
He's saying it as a "votewinner". Won't/can't feasibly happen.

Is this some sort of joke?

Kids will spend all day playing games like Call of Duty, and no one bats an eye. Oh, but if a kid looks at porn on the internet, everyone loses their minds.

People need to realize two things:
 • Of all the things kids are exposed to, porn isn't the worst.
 • Most 'kids' don't just magically find porn. They search for it.
There's a reason why half the internet is porn. That's because half the human population seeks it, on the internet. Can't we stop pretending like it's something that needs to be hidden... and just grow up, as a society?

We're humans. As embarrassing as it is, upwards of 99% of us have sexual desires. That's just a fact of life. How about this: instead of trying to hide that fact, why don't we put more effort into educating children about sex, so they don't grow up in a state of confusion thinking it's both as bad and as good as it's portrayed to be?

Honestly, the only 'bad' thing about porn is the industry itself. It takes advantage of the actors and spreads STD's.

Of course, I've also heard about it being addictive and causing erectile dysfunction in men, over time. However, once again, these are problems that probably wouldn't exist if porn wasn't the taboo subject that it is. I'm pretty sure that if most men knew that, they would keep their porn browsing habits in check.

It's not like it's that hard to do--again, sex is neither as good nor as bad as we think it is. It's just sex.

Although the majority I agree with, professional porn stars are tested regularly - their career can be slashed if they are tested to and shown to have something before a shoot. On everything else, I agree with you.

The only thing I agree with on the article, is bringing in the law against rape roleplay porn. I had a friend who showed me it before and it was horrific - it seems so realistic and you honestly can't tell the difference between real rape and roleplay rape (not that I've witnessed a real rape). But ugh, I felt like disgusted, angry and upset after seeing it.
I understand people have so-called 'fetishes about rape', but it's just plain wrong. :grr:

If it's just roleplay, I really don't see what the problem is. As long as both people are *actually* consenting to it, no one is getting hurt.

To each their own.
In my own personal opinion, unless you actually wanted to rape someone, I don't see how anyone could get off by having someone fighting against them, screaming to stop and such. (That's just my opinion, I just don't understand how people can. xD)

I think what Bowie meant to say is that it's difficult to decipher whether it's real or acted, and there within lies a problem because victims of abuse would go unsupported due to assumptions of it being an act of roleplay.

I also suppose it could fuel the desires of a potential rapist, but that's just pure speculation on my part.
