Umm, unless it is accompanied by the discs the songs are off of it is illegal. I'd forward the email to Sound Choice or any of the manufacturers.
 
Like I said, I am not into Karaoke so if someone wants me to forward it to them to do just that, just let me know your email.
 
Karaoke King is very well known as a pirate to all 3 manufacturers. He owns virtually nothing, so they are trying to come up with a means to take action against him that makes sense. They already had his paypal account suspended.
 
One more thing, Karaoke King does not own the Stone Pony Bar in Asbury Park, NJ! (The address he listed). I think he is in rural Illinois.

Nice sense of humor. Stone Pony is the bar that is famous because Bruce Springsteen used to pop in and do performances there now and then.

Legality:

These are licensed copies of materials and software FOR PRIVATE USE ONLY.

Law abidance is my priority. I am simply selling my personal library at a substantial loss. Proper Royalties have been paid.

More About Legality:

As you may know even some of the main karaoke producers have had litigation with artists associations. My lawyer that does substantial work with copyrighted materials had indicated that for the United States royalties need to be paid to ASCAP and BMI. I am a member in good standing to both associations.

Some music, let say like "Danny Boy" or "Green Sleeves" or "Frosty the Snowman" is now public domain and does require licensing. This is further complicated by the fundamental "change" of some of the art... As in the fact that the "Lead Vocal Artist" is not appearing on the work, So for example, Nat King Coles “White Christmas” is a none issue...

I imagine that if we wrote all the pertinent information on this issue it would contain VOLUMES of LEGALITY. However basically if you take your due diligence in "private presentations” and pay your ASCAP and or BMI dues you are covered...

A whole bunch of hooey. He doesn't know what he is talking about. Still Illegal unless he is providing the discs that the songs are off of and even that is still illegal but with those discs you are one to one and have nothing to fear from Sound Choice or another manufacturer. Kinda funny he refers to the KIAA as they would never condone his activity.

Only if there are no physical discs with it and selling it with JustKaraoke isn't legal either unless his copy of JustKaraoke is just the demo.

exactly and that is why he can legally selll the HD. What others decide to use it for is on them. Sort of like purchasing a Bong. The only thing I find funny is that BMI etc ASCAP is only relevant to public venues. He needs to hire someone who isnt a Google Lawyer eh Steve?
