I know its taboo for some of you to put money into a work out program when you can essentially go online and make one of your own with a little bit of research, for free. I'm not here to dispute that, and if that's what you want to do that's fine. I'm not here to sell you anything but if anyone's interested I've made this thread to tell you more about it.

P90X2, in my experience, has been well worth it. It takes you out of the daily grind in the gym and challenges your body in ways most of you haven't tried before, and its there to build your athletic performance in sports.

As you can see in the picture above, Tony Horton has his elbow on a stability ball as he's exercising. Sounds silly, or like something women do, but the idea behind it is making you balance and fire your entire core & balance into completing your exercises. This also forces all of your correct muscles for a movement to engage instead of being able to swing the weights around and cheat.

You'll also encounter things like this:

Doing push ups while balancing on four (8 lb. - 12 lb. medicine balls). If you've never done anything like this before you'll definitely have a hard time with this for a few weeks. The balance, at first, required to do these push ups are really intense. And instead of getting 100 reps flailing around with poor form, you're forced to engage your entire body and get quality reps or you'll smash your face into the floor.

They can be difficult at first but this is why there are 3 phases, which are as follows:

Phase 1: Foundation (3-6 weeks)
Phase 2: Strength (3-6 weeks)
Phase 3: Performance (3-6 weeks)

In Phase 1, you'll be focusing most on your core and your balance so you can get ready for the moves in the next two phases.

In Phase 2, you'll be working on the strength routines, including balance and weight training.

Finally, in phase 3 you'll be entering a very customized routine following the idea of Post Activation Potentiation (Or P3)

This has been used in the last 4 years in the NBA, NFL and MLB teams for top tier olympic athletes.

Any questions you have on this can be found on this website:

http://howdoigetfit.com/programs/p90x2/p90x2s-big-deal-post-activation-potentiation-p-a-p/

In my experience this program has already helped me a lot with my strength, explosive movements and has dramatically increased my vertical leap. I just completed Phase 2 and will be moving on to Phase 3 on Monday.

If any of you have any more questions about the program feel free to post here and I'll be sure to respond.

Honestly if you haven't purchased it (or acquired it by means that are free), how can you judge a book by it's cover? Did you even read any of the information I wrote?

I've been working out for over five years and the things I'm following in P90X2 aren't things you learn at your local gym or even consider tossing into your daily routine.

Let's be real here, people just throw in some bench, squats and dead lifts, curls, etc. And do the typical crap forever and they never reach their true potential.

This program offers things not previously introduced to the public and was only used for pro athletes. In fact, actual professional athletes follow this program with positive feedback.

Before weights, I started on P90X due to the hype and plastered results all over youtube and the like. I always felt that it was more cardio than anything and my results reflected that: lost weight, became skinny, hardly any muscle.

Perhaps I didn't eat enough? Not sure, after doing the program twice with little gain I quit. Whilst partaking, I read on the forums that immediately after exercising, you definitely needed to drink the official p90x protein or home made protein mixed with a ratio of fruit juice. Seems ridiculous now :p

In the end, not all programs are catered for everybody I suppose. Tony Horton though, is one beast of a motivator and I miss his encouragements when I lift...

I didnt know there was a P90X2 - Ive looked at p90X but havent started it yet. The thing is p90x looked doable but just from those 2 pictures - I dont like the look of p90x2 - looks dangerous! lol

It works, it just isn't for me. I can't sit in front of the TV and workout.

lol Well I know for a fact I would fall off those balls trying to do push ups - could do myself more damage than good! :)

Tried this once. Turned it off after 20min into workout 1 because the guy was too annoying. Then I just drove to the gym.

This program definitely works to some degree, but it's not really my thing. Most programs work though as long as you stick to it. These one program fits all are not as ideal as a specifically catered program to fit an individuals needs and goals though. Still, any kind of exercise is a good thing.

P90x works, but you can make your own workout for far less money and get the same or better results. Would much rather just lift heavy, take a multi and eat at a calorie range that suited my goals.

I've been looking into this program just for a little something to supplement my main workout. Looks like a pretty good workout program and its pretty nice if you aren't motivated enough to go to the gym and workout. It lays everything out for you, even the diet.

It's basically because people who aren't hardcore gym rat's unlike myself and people without common sense need to have guidance or a program of someone telling them what to do because they are uneducated about it. It's not just Eat Lift and Sleep for these people because they don't live a fitness lifestyle they are more then likely first timer's looking to get in shape or very obese people looking to shed a few pounds. I'm sure you can see result's from p90x and other program's but it's not my cup of tea, I rather just hit the gym with intensity lift heavy in both low and high rep rangers and come home and recover.

Kind Regard's

Looks like an excellent program for cutting after a nice season of bulking. I've tried out the regular P90x before, it was incredibly tough but after the 90 days it slimmed me down pretty well.

P90x and Insanity was never design for bodybuilders, it was for people who just want to get in shape, flexibility ect ect. People need to understand that.

To be honest, just diet and lift weights will get anyone in shape.

Really, guys. P90x is just a way to make yourself suffer. Do it slowly. Go into the program slowly, and yeah, I agree that just dieting and going to the gym regularly will do the trick. If there exist fad diets, there exist fad workouts. Sad to say this is one of them.

Would you really say its a fad? I thought if people stuck to this regime they got better results than if they had just gone to lift weights?
