What do you think of biting pens? Do you think it is a psylogical problem or what?

May be due to the stress and nervousness we like to do something to relieve it. In that case if a person has a pen with him. He/she might tend to break it or bite it to get the tension out.
But i feel counting 1 to 100 or recalling some good past issue might stop a person from doing it.
