TAMPA - Right now, arson investigators are piecing together what led to a suspicious death and house fire in South Tampa. The fire broke out just before two Thursday morning, at 6709 Interbay Boulevard.
The man inside was pulled from the burning building and taken to Tampa General Hospital where he later died.
At this point, police can't say for sure if he died in the fire or if he was killed before someone set fire to the home.
Witnesses tell police they saw someone or possibly a few people running from the direction of the home and hopping over nearby fences. They are still trying to put together a description of a suspect.
