What do you all think will happen now?

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Rebels in Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday rejected Joseph Kabila as interim head of state after the killing of his father, President Laurent Kabila, and accused him of new acts of war.

The Congolese seem to me a belligerent, rebellious and barbaric people (well mostly anyway - I do not want to generalise) in that they seem to prefer to live in a perpetual warlike state. I think anarchy will follow and unless the Western world gets involved (again) this nation will suffer terribly again

Ever saw Princess Bride? I was just thinking of that movie as I read this:

Joseph Kabila - "My name is Joseph Kabila. You killed my father. Prepair to die!"
Rebel Scum - "STOP SAYING THAT!!!!"
Joseph Kabila - "My name is Joseph Kabila. You killed my father. Prepair to die!"

I don't think they're a barbaric people, but I think they've been unlucky, firstly to get Mobutu as a dictator, and then to get behind Laurent Kabila, only to find him following in Mobutu's footsteps, and then to have to fight again. The rebels did a pretty good job, considering the number of countries that were against them, and they managed to hold the city of Kisangani for quite a while. I hope they can throw out Joseph Kabila and finally, have a shot at democracy.
